It was 4/1, April Fool’s day  at the winery and the winemakers phone rings. It’s a 212 area code and the caller claims to be calling from Wine Spectator Magazine. Radar Up? You know it! While this pleasant gentleman, allegedly from Wine Spectator is explaining the nature of his call, Bob is half listening and half trying to figure out who this actually was! The potentially guilty parties know who you are!

But it turns out the call actually WAS from Wine Spectator with a call to invite us to represent Kansas & the Wichita State Shockers in a Final Four blind taste off in New York on Thursday 4/4. We submitted both our vignoles and our chambourcin. The results are in! We agree with their prediction that the Shockers will beat Louisville advancing to the finals, but we think they underestimated the Shockers in the final and still believe they will go all the way.

We’ll be there when they win to toast to their success! Go Shockers!
