Chambourcin 2016 Estate Release!
Come taste it at the vineyard in Paxico.
Another of our limited releases of the year is here this Saturday and Sunday at the vineyard in Paxico.
This is 100% from our 2016 estate vineyard harvest and aged over 24 months in french oak barrels. Grown and made right here, these grapes and wine have never left Bacchus Ranch through the entire process. This wine has traveled less than 100 yards during the entire growing and winemaking process. We measure the carbon footprint of our estate wines using the soles of our shoes!
Winemakers Note: As I always say: You are drinking the weather of that year. This vintage is a perfect example. After all the hail of the previous year, 2016 turned out to be a much milder year. We take a lot of care trying to guess what Mother Nature will do, but in the end, she’s in charge. Ample sunshine with a moderate amount of rainfall following a dry winter caused the vines to dig deep into our rich native soil. During our initial post harvest tastings, we could already tell by the incredible ripeness of the berry fruit, that this was going to be a special vintage. Add to that a generous tannin structure and this wine will continue to develop for years to come.
Here we are over two years later and I’d like to invite you to try it as well.
We can’t thank you enough for supporting Kansas GROWN!
Cheers, Bob DesRuisseaux, Winegrower
