While possibly mistaken for a certain insurance company representative, this is actually a collared lizard. We love seeing all the creatures on Bacchus Ranch, no matter their size.

Little creatures such as this are are huge reason we practice sustainable methods and do not utilize insecticides in our vineyard. Chemically reducing the number of insects reduces the amount of food available for other creatures such as this lizard.

If these little creatures weren’t around, we would sure miss them!
